Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Jana Zapalac grew up in Needville, Texas and graduated from Needville High School in 1998. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University in 2002. During her years in veterinary school, she did externships at the 6666's Ranch, Anglesy Equine Hospital in Kildare, Ireland and Ngongoni Private Game Lodge in Nelspruit, South Africa. In June of 2009, she graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine.
After Dating for 10 years, Dr. Zapalac married Zach Zapalac who had grown up in the area in 2010, and moved to Wharton, Texas. In 2013 was blessed with a son, Barrett and in 2015 with her beautiful daughter, Payton. Their family includes an adopted mix breed dog, Rosie and two cats, Screamer and Oliver. When she isn't chauffeuring between kids, her interests include traveling, scuba diving, hunting, fishing and crafting.
Dr. Zapalac enjoys working on both small and larger animals and joined Bay City Veterinary Clinic & Equine Hospital in November of 2015. In September 2022 she completed cryopreservation and management of canine semen to add to our growing canine breeding program.
